I also understand it is a private school. Most happen in public. So maybe some of the people willing to hand over cash to go fund me's can get go fund me's up to refit private school widows and doors
Have you looked at test scores? Do you trust schools to get it right? When your kid has mental illness he should go to a dr. Expecting a school to take care of mental illness is like expecting a school nurse to do surgery. The kid has a mental issue you take them to the dr.
I have seen a major increases in counselors in schools. Used to be maybe 2 per highschool now they have 5 to 6. Kids are allowed to leave class to speak with them. Violence continues. Schools have petitioned for free food for school lunches and breakfast and received it. Violence continues. Right wing nuts...Violence. left wing nuts Violence. Everyone in between. Violence. We are living in a broken society.
i am going to make a lot of trouble, But, My opinion ! we lost american values when women went to work ! Moms not home, nannies, baby sitters, nobody home, ! America lost its values when so many children have no active fathers ! How many baby momma,s and baby daddy,s do you hear about daily ! No mothers at home raising children, No fathers around correcting behaviour !!! Now we have teachers and govt believing they no better how to raise your children !! WHAT COULD GO WRONG ?
That is a parenting and poor home life problem, not a school services problem. Please convince to trust the government with more influence in the lives of children.
My wife's a teacher I trust her 100%. Also, Schools are still locally run here in Michigan. One of my good friends is a MAGA, it was funny listening to him say all the stuff the schools here in MI do and teach. It was entertaining to watch her disprove all his points and made up BS with facts.
Where? school psychologists differ from school counselors Today in Michigan one school counselor exists for every 670 students. The national ratio for the 2021-2022 school year is 1127 students to 1 school psychologist.
I worked many years ago in a small town high school that back then ,when I was in my 30's,had 2 phyologists. BTW ..one they finally fired after I turned them in for gross negligence after a suicide attempt. It took them another 6 mos of quietly watching them before firing. Another 6 mo. of potential damage. Administrator privately thanked me for pressing the issue.
FYI school psychologists are doctors, my wife's friend at work is a school psychologist, and yes I would trust her to help a kid.

My wife is also a teacher. We both hold the opinion that parenting in the home is far more influential for good, or, for bad than anything any school employee of any kind could be. We also both hold the opinion that other than basic physiology in high school biology, schools have no business teaching anything related to sexuality. That education is the responsibility of the parents/guardians, whether it be accepted or abdicated. Public school or private school, for good or bad, the home situation is far more influential on the upbringing and stability of a child than anything that happens in school.

Its not about what the kid may or may not need. It is about the disaster of incompetence of anything government run. Charitable nonprofits do a far better job than the government. There are far better places than schools for kids to get that help. But, then again, they have to have parents whom are not morons and actually care about getting their kid help.

That ratio is about equal to the northern VA area in which I used to live. Most highschools had about 2500 students. They really ramped up counselors and the more I try to remember, I remember a push for a school psychologist for every two highschools or so. Hell my old police department hired 2 full time psychologists bc we had several members blow their brains out over a short period of time. Germ, we may disagree with some things but it is evident you care. Wish more people did.
