Agree. But....his base is probably still there and nobody, not even DeSantis, can compete with Tumps persona that makes his base go nuts. DeSantis is room temp Trump, which is fine. But, like I heard some pundit say the other day, nobody wants to see the tribute band when the band is still touring. Gonna have to unite behind somebody. If it's Trump, we all know what we are in for, but it's better than what we have. Pretty good indictment of the 2 party system and yet another lesser of 2 evils prospect.
3rd party ?? ..... ....... anyways, I voted for Ted Cruz in the primary ... I'll go for DeSantis more than likely if he decides to get in this time around and Trump again if he gets the nomination ... never that I know of has any 3rd party candidate been a viable one ... now, that being said, I did vote for the independent candidate running against my GOP gov. cause I was so pissed over his covid mandates, and I sure as hell wasnt voting for the lousy dem either.... it was a toss away vote is all it was, like any voting for a 3rd party candidate is ..
Hopefully, Trump will finally get indicted for one of his many misdeeds and we wont have to deal with him in a primary so we can focus on a solid conservative candidate and move on with getting the Country back and know which bathrooms are safe to use. It was so classy of him to forgo his salary, but then charge secret service up to $1,100 per night in his hotels. He is slimy all the way around. Absolutely no better than the rest of the swamp. If Obama had changed the banking regulations that allowed the SVB debacle, he would get roasted. But, since Trump did it, it's largely ignored, at least by his kool-aid drinkers. In 2018, he took away banking regulations on banks under $250 billion. You can be guaranteed that he had some interest in that also. His bank buddies had to love that little move. His story on Stormy Daniels has been changing faster than I change socks. There is no reason that anyone should take him seriously at this point.
Gotta admit Fletch, although you n I have had our wires crossed in the past, I totally agree with your assessment of Trump. He could have been such a great President if he could have stayed focused at the issues at hand without letting his huge ego get out of hand.
Biggest political disappointment of my life. We literally had EVERYTHING at our fingertips and he couldn't stand the success. His ego was so fragile that he was obsessed with the criticism. If he was man enough to just ignore the naysayers and do the work, we would all be in tall cotton right now. HUUUGGE embarrassment. As far as wires crossed, you could kick my ass, so we might as well just have a beer and agree to disagree on occasion.
