Bought my first house for $105,000 thought it was crazy to spend over $100,000 on your first house. Heck now I doubt you could find a townhouse for under $100,000. Some real estate is still crazy here in Minnesota best investment I made was lake shore property. In a little over 2 years my property value has gone up over $200,000.
Wife and I bought our first house in 2000 for 130k! Great little house. Now house costs are off the hook, because they know people will buy them in a state of desperation.
I can't tell you how satisfying it is to hear of these Governors that are sending illegal immigrants to various "sanctuary cities". It is soothing to my soul.
Their outrage about this horrible action makes me giggle. Put up or shut up, you labeled yourselves as a sanctuary now do what you said you would do.
Yeah its easy to say those things living in their insulated little progressive bubbles and rich homes, but when the problem comes knocking on their door they are exposed.
Housing market was in bad shape with those interest rates. Also an older home in village shared drive and we had to completely gut the inside. Dig new basement(stone foundation) under it. Walls were horse hair lath and plaster, electric was cloth covered. Literally we replaced everything but the frame and even the soil in the front yard. Had a great back yard though with American chestnuts. . In the early 2000's we payed about the same for sons home on five acres with two garages and twice the size. Paid bank cash, but he is still doing the same thing we did., God bless him, but he paid us back long ago interest free and owns it out right.
Good news, you can now spend that much on a new truck! I bought my first house for $83K, 1800sqft right outside the gates of Ft. Campbell, wish I never sold that one, I'd be making a lot of easy coin.
I really want to dislike this but don’t want you to get the dislike. My rent is almost double what the rest of the US pays for their mortgage. I earn enough to buy a home in any other state. A 600sf home built in the 40s in the worst neighborhoods goes for around $500k. Condos start at $600k. I’ve lived in the same apartment for 7 years. If I move to another apartment of the same size or smaller, I’ll end up paying at least $1000 more a month. I don’t know why people keep moving here.
I find it eye-opening for some in the north, but I hope they are not sending illegal immigrants as I want DeSantis to run in 2024. To transport illegal immigrants is against federal law. We know what these guys will do to their opponents. https://www.justice.gov/archives/jm/criminal-resource-manual-1907-title-8-usc-1324a-offenses
Once they are cleared from their initial immigration stuff, they are free to roam our country, without any check ups until their court dates. This is what these morons wanted. Give it to them.
Ive stopped and spoken to immigrant families who entered the US from thousands of miles away. Ive asked them what they are up to----one family of 5 entered into the US in California and did not have a federal immigration court date for 11 months. They travelled all the way to Virginia without anyone checking up on their whereabouts over that time period. This is the tip of the iceberg with 0 accountability. Scary.
Correct, once they are processed by immigration and released with an NTA in court or pending asylum hearing they are free to roam. They are technically legally present at that point.
Yeah, my Expedition is getting a little tired and I started looking at new F-150s, basically the same exact version F-150 that I bought in 2015 for $32,000 is over $65,000 now. I stopped looking at new F-150s. Good news is I'm getting calls from the dealership to buy back the 20 Durango @$45k that I bought off corporate lease with 6k miles for $34k... and it's got 18k miles now.
Man, are you getting all the bells and whistles? I just built one for 47,000, plus A plan, or just what 6 months and they will be giving them away
Agreed, I will wait 6-12 months and try to catch the point where they are offering discounts and rates start dropping again. Nah, I just want a quad cab 4x4 with the 5.0 and max tow/tow mirrors. On the lots here for $65k. Probably some wiggle room but not much.
It does, and my 2015 had it and I loved it, but twin turbos go boom way before coyotes do. Assuming things go status quo this will be the last vehicle I buy at least before I retire in 7 years or so. I only put about 7-9k miles per year on my personal vehicle.
