Let’s hope Saudi Arabia says no, being US oil industry will set the record for oil production next 6 months. Short term fix to flood the market will lead to cheaper gas for about a year, and then 5 dollar + plus gas again. Get out of the way US oil industry, congress, Biden and others.

Would also like to see a couple new refinery projects break ground, a few reactors, or some other diversification of power tech...

The fix is so obvious that the only explanation is that it's all planned.

Do you want a refinery in your backyard? That's the number one reason why we won't get one, same people that say "build one please", follow it with "just not in my backyard"

The second reason is refining oil to gas has the least profit margins so to companies it's not worth it.

The Nimby problem is easily overcome...the problem also wouldn't go away even if we moved away from gasoline, it would just move (aero, manufacturing shipping, etc),...still need refining for all the other products...

Here's the question your town or township has an opportunity for a refinery, who is voting yes?

me, my vote is a no.

Do it!!!!!! I beg of you.

I have said it from the get go Manchin would be the only block from straight up outlandish bills being passed and keep things in check. Also wished he would drop the Democrat title and either join Republicans or go independent and caucus with them. I'm actually kind of surprised he hasn't already.

Give the Senate to the Republicans for the remainder of Biden's term.

Doesn't really matter what Gary or Bill think. This is a decision elected officials usually make, unless an ngo can show cause or a citizen can prove claims to reject (seldom does zoning or other a decisions hinge on citizenry input). Lastly, given the CT prescient of eminent domain to build a casino, joe citizen's input is pretty much has null and void.

BTW Charlotte wouldn't make too much sense for logistical reasons (no port or pipeline nearby with crude)...greater Detroit may make a bit more sense than here...

We already have one, it is the point as to who elects those officials. Most of us if we are honest is going to answer a "no" for our backyard.

    I have two near me:
    Oregon Ohio BP
    Detroit Marathon

Would to want one in your town yes or no?

Wouldn't matter much to me, so long as it didn't affect environmental (drinking water, air), traffic or economy...I've moved due to prevailing wind direction before...

Course I used to live & work around nuclear, paper mill and cannery businesses, and by default I generally view through a capitalist and environmental lens...not the norm.
