That's the reason I never did a 529 because the date my kids go to college is pretty set, you need the money then. I can weather the retirement date and move it up or down., and yes I may have lost a bit of money, I took the guarantee of what I put in was there.

The White House quietly issued an Executive Order #14019 in March of 2021 that ignored the fact that election administration is the property of the states, not the Executive Branch. Before their plan to pass HR 1- the federalization of elections- failed, Biden signed the Executive Order aimed at 600 Federal agencies to have them “expand access” to voting. Mine has actually been growing since moving it to a "Stable Value Fund" awhile ago. Granted it's only a few hundred but I'd rather it be that then $7-8k or more in loss. Hardest part is going to be knowing when to move it back in to stocks, likely sometime around or after the 2024 election I imagine.
Why of course they are....I have to laugh when I voted the primary I was asked to be an inspector again..hahaha I said you guys are all new,they will never allow me back as an inspector in this state. I explained a bit and they said try, there has been a complete turn over since then at the county level, we need people. I have to give credit though they ask for more ID information than the use to though the signature on the computer screen is a worthless comparison they do not take seriously...they back it up with your in computer date of birth verification.
