Mass Shooting Erupts at Suburban Chicago Fourth of July Parade ..(not a lot of details here) Multiple people were reported hit in a mass shooting at a Fourth of July parade in a Chicago suburb Monday. No fatalities were immediately confirmed by officials, but the Chicago Sun-Times reported seeing several blanket-covered bodies at the scene in Highland Park, north of Chicago. Shots fired about 10 minutes after the parade began at 10 a.m. sent hundreds of people fleeing and caused the event to abruptly end in panic, the newspaper reported. The Chicago Tribune said that Gov. J.B. Pritzker had been attending the parade and said nine people were shot.
