I know you didn't but it's exactly what they are focusing on. Not the root cause, but the inanimate object, and it is coming from one side of the political spectrum. Do you believe that children should not be givem a gemder until they are old enough to understand gender? Which they are wanting to teach them in school when they are "too young" to understand? Where is the logic in that amd how is that not confusing the minds of the youth?
As someone pointed out on another forum, see building security standard is viable. We have ADA standards, why not...? Doors can be linked to fire systems to stay locked except emergency, mantraps implemented as part of a double door entry/vestabules...procedures like Id/buzz in for visitors..... This can be taken much further... Not fool proof, but better. Again, I don't see this as a deterrent, as OND mentioned in an example, if somebody was really intent on evil....

That depends, do you want liberty or safety. I believe it was Benjamin Franklin who said, "Those who give up liberty for the sake of safety will find neither." Or something close to that, life in not without risk and danger. Constant government overwatch will not create a safe society, only high value on morality will do that, something the liberal leftists will never understand.
And why many soft targets are targets. Another option below, whether real (like in Israel) or a ruse…may also be a deterrent until tested/evaluated.
Brett is right in some respects, but wouldn’t see it through the same lens I do. His from years of experience dealing with all sorts of people…most of whom, I doubt are model citizens. Really it doesn’t matter…this is classic OT/NT stuff: law, sinful man and evil. We can do what we want to try to patch things up in society…it doesn’t change the end. Well I for one have lived long enough and seen way too shady things to not believe in one. All you need to do I'd draw a line from Obama to Biden catching several others inbetween to know this.
Hhhmmmm so the guy had dropped out of school? Mother was a drug addict. He had a big pick up, said he got intro to drive away with no license BUT never said who owned it? bought expensive guns , many clips, a crap load of ammo. A vest? Tell me you all buy ammo and guns, you know the costs, you have trucks, you know the cost. 18 yrs. Old where did the money come from? Follow the money.....
Coworker had told me yesterday the school where his wife works had a 2nd grader bring a firearm to school. I was hoping it was a toy or something, a 2nd grader though. If not stolen the owner of that firearm needs appropriate charges filef and prosecuted accordingly. If stolen then the parents should be charged accordingly along with possession of stolen firearm/property. There is no sense for any of that, but especially for a 7 year old to have access and actually possess/travel with such.
A month ago my grandson had a student bring a pellet gun into school...actually got into school with It...2 grade. The entire incident was completely down played...
