To be eligible to vote in the United States, you have to be 18 years old or older; you have to be a US Citizen by birth or naturalization; and you cannot be a convicted felon. For many states, you also have to show you are a resident of that state. Showing a photo ID to verify you are eligible in at least the age and residency issues is not discriminatory, it's helping to establish eligibility. Every state has ID's for nondrivers and the cost is minimal if not free.

Do they not require an ID to purchase cigarettes and alcohol in those suburban environments, and for those in lower income brackets. It is a ruse but the left to say they don't have drivers licenses, therefore it is unfair. It's just a ridiculous argument.

It would be better if republicans would just say this is some thing they want because it helps them win. Not act like there is some big voter fraud they are trying to save us from.

Conversely, it would be better if democrats would just say they don't want this law because it will make it harder for them to win. Not act like its some injustice.

Other way around. Correct me if I'm wrong but when ever you here of voter fraud it always benefitted a Democrat.
Starting with JFK but Nixon was a big enough man to not want to put the country through that. In hind site we wish he would of. Instead we had JFK & Johnson start the Vietnam War and then run it halfassed and got a lot of American killed for it.

There are current laws on the books on immigration also, but they are not enforced. Why would we expect this administration to enforce voter fraud laws when they have issued orders to not enforce laws that are not to there advantage or liking( like DOMA, illigal immigration, welfare reform, voter intimidation)

So instead of voters holding them responsible to enforce the current laws, we should just pass new ones that get ignored?

How do you suggest we enforce them? If we can't ask for ID how can we prove they are who they say they are?

Just pass the damn law and move on.:D

I've seen 5 year olds with I.D. Cards so their parents could collect their SS Check. I'm sure they can take the time to get one to vote.

I wish I could suspend reality like that but even in the tree stand, I find myself praying for the misguided liberals and hoping they will once again return to the proper path. Each year I lose more hope and based on some of the posts here, I see the liberal mindset has infected even more.

What's the current law in your state?

Do you currently have a issue with documented voter fraud?

What do you have to show to vote in your state?

It can't be documented because it can't be proven.Atleast not by the workers at the polling place.

There are plenty of cases that are caught every year. We all see it on TV after the elections that someone(or some group) got caught.AND that is without needing ID.

The integrity of the most basic right in this country needs to be protected. If there is even a chance of fraud or cheating going on,we need to do everything in our power to ensure it doesn't happen.I would think every AMERICAN would want this protected, baffles me that they do not.

I propose FREE ID to those that can't afford the $5.00 for an ID. No more excuses.

I guess we shouldn't be asked for ID when we buy alcohol. I can see the clerk now. Are you 21? YES,You look 15 to me but I guess I'll have to take your word for it because I can't ask for ID.
