So Walter Wallace JR, a psychopath defies all commands to drop the knife and and charges 2 officers and they shoot him dead...now we have protest again...I guess the officers should have just run away from the scene? Then they would be sued for job abandonment if Jr would have stabbed a bystander...smdh
The police have only seconds to react!!! The did the right thing. The rioters and looters look for any excuse to cause problems for us law abiding citizens
No matter what color or race in America if you have not learned that if you go after law enforcement with a weapon you will get shot, you may deserve to get shot.
According to sleepy Joe, the officer should have shot him in the leg and everything would've been resolved!
Well, if the Cops had tasers in their possession, which they should have had and didn't, that situation would probably have had a very different ending. Just saying.
I would think a Taser is part of the LEO issued items. There are instances of the Taser not working on the person and other method have to be used.
It doesn't seem to me as if tasing is working too well these days...a lot of these incidents the taser was used to no affect.. Bottom line, BLM believes that a black man should be able to do whatever the hell he wants when he wants and how he wants without consequences. I wouldn't be a cop for all the money in the world
Yes, one would think that, but it wasn't the case here. That's why a gun was used. I just don't understand why they can't shoot somebody in the legs. I know they are trained to go for the "big target", but being so close they could hit the legs easily enough. Isn't there some sort of net gun that could be used? They use them on a large scale to capture animals for study, and or relocation.
Tasers are a great tool, yes, but they also fail a high percentage of the time, especially given that could mean life or death for the officer. A taser is a less lethal weapon and a knife is a lethal weapon, so when faced with a lethal weapon, why would you use a less than lethal?
When a perpetrator has a deadly weapon ( Knife, gun, bat etc ) it is combated by the police with deadly force. Leaves no room for error. Shooting people in the leg, foot or hand leaves too much room for error. This is not TV.
If someone breaks in your house at 2 am with a deadly weapon are you going to shoot them in leg? Because I sure as hell ain't.
Tasers are ineffective, especially when the suspect is high as the space station (especially pcp, but other drugs too). Story is the guy was bipolar. Maybe true. But, from my seat, looks like suicide by cop to me...with a side of riots. I'm sure if you're BIPOC, you may see racial profiling and a miscarriage of justice. But this is why we have a justice system instead of vigilante justice. If the guy was told to drop the knife but kept advancing toward police, caught on video...that should be the end of it.. Likely it won't, though.
No, it's not TV, and neither is the looting and arson that takes place after EVERY incident like this. It will continue as long as cops keep killing people who don't have to die. They better come up with some kind of deterrent, because this crap is happening almost every month or so. Each time there is relative calm from the previous event, they do the same thing over again!!
