I wanted some performance underwear for Christmas and didn't get it so I purchased some and got it the day before my season ended. From Cabela's I purchased the Polartec ECWCS (Extreme Cold Weather Clothing System (think that's right)) performance underwear. I had a 5 minute hike to my stand and I was sweating. That morning it was 8 degrees when I got to my stand with 15-20 mph winds and I was fine. After my sit I decided to hike around the grounds since I wouldn't be back for an evening hunt. I was down to these garments, warmup pants, and a polartec fleece for the hike. My clothes never felt wet and I was warm the for the 5-6 hours I was outside. I got them on sale shipped for around $80. I consider that a steal. Since I haven't had them long enough I can't rate them any higher as a consumer, but I'd give them an 8.5 out of 10 right now. I plan on taking two skiing trips in the near future. That might be a good test for the gear...
They are very warm. I wouldn't recommend walking around in them unless you like to sweat. I pack mine in and put them on in the treestand.
