Currently my bow is perfectly tuned using 100g points. If I were to switch to 125g point s would I have to retune the bow? Buy different arrow spine?

It probably won't make much of a difference unless you are borderline weak to begin with. I would retune, or fine tune, again just to check and make sure everything was good. The easiest, fastest way to go would be just shoot one arrow with a 125 grain BH and one with a 125 grain FP at different and longer yardages. You would see right away if there are problems.

There are many many variables to this situation. On average it will change things just enough for the average shooter to notice. Screw in a 125gr point and see what happens. Shoot a group of arrows half with 125gr and half with 100gr tips and see what the difference is. Shoot with BH's. Or if you want to get into tuning then commit to the 125's and do some modified french tuning. You may not have a very big difference, but then again maybe you will. You could always shave about 1" off your arrows and then it probably wouldn't change a thing as the arrow would stiffen up a little bit.

Just curious but why are you wanting to switch to 125's anyway?

a heavier head probably wont give you better penetration or ke. ke isnt where you get penetration from with an arrow anyways its the momentum of the total arrow not just a a head. just remember the heavier the head you go with the weaker it makes your spine also alot depends on the bow you shoot single cam dual cam length of arrows speed bow vs a bow thats on the slower side it all goes hand in hand to determine what arrow your bow likes. myself if you want more penetration build an arrow thats heavier all around like a easton full metal jacket or somthing on that basis

Increasing weight on the front, increasing FOC, will improve penetration. Having more of the weight on the front, a higher FOC, works out better for penetration than having it evenly spread across the arrow length. It also improves flight and tunability.

Exactly my point. My arrows are heavy enough at 9 gpi. I need to improve my FOC. having Lumenoks really throws it off.

Not sure if you shoot feathers or vanes but going with feathers will also take a significant amount of weight off the back end. One more thing to improve your FOC.

Vanes. Never shot feathers before. Thought about it
