I recieved an email with this cell phone picture of a huge white tail supposedly killed in eastern OK where poaching is very, very bad. When I called my buddy that lives in the area he told me that it was poached at night time with a rifle, the head was removed and the carcass was left to rot!!!

Supposedly the local game warden is looking to find where this photo originated but that's like finding a needle in a hay barn!! I PRAY THEY FIND THEM!!!

Evidently it was on private land and some people who have game cameras out actually had pics of this trophy. It just made me think about how ticked off I would be if a trophy I had seen on my game camera and hoped myself or one of my kids could get a shot at was killed by some moron who doesn't even deserve the chance to kill such a magnificent animal.

About 10 yrs ago, the land owner who was letting me hunt their land called me saying they had heard gun shots the previous night in the area I had been hunting. Then when I headed out to bow hunt the next day I found 3 does piled up with their back straps cut out!!!

Ethical hunters really need to stand up and help law enforcement combat these idiots!!!

Yeah, I just don't get why it is entertaining to kill a trophy buck and have to keep the horns hidden in the garage for fear of the wrong person seeing them. Where I grew up is the second largest county in OK and it only has 3 game wardens but about 3,000 poachers. Some of them run dogs from september until spring. Others spotlight and kill everything they see. Even as a kid I was disgusted by them.

I recieved this picture, too. Personally I don't believe a word of it. A little internet research would probably reveal the real origin of that buck.

    Thats a freakin MONSTER !!

I hate poachers.. In NJ, its generally the law enforcement doing it !! I hate to say that, but, its fact, here anyway. Too many people with the same story- trespassing and poaching, behind a badge.

My friends and I had deer jacked by cops, last year. Shot before the season. Whatever though, we all still took nice deer :)

I hope they catch the loser that shot this buck.

Actually im from oklahoma too......down south here....and i was lookin in the back of a younger kids truck the other day , just talkin about how hunting season is going,,,and i noticed 6 or 7 racks in the back of his truck.....no telling when or how he shot them,,,but i thought it was odd that he had that many and you can only take 2 bucks in the state of oklahoma........but you gotta know that it starts with people in their family showing them how and when to poach......idk though

yeah, I grew up in McCurtain County where I think poaching starts at a very young age. It is a shame too cause there are some Huge deer there but they are pressured so hard that it is hard to kill them. As soon as they hear gun shots they head to the thickest woods they can find and don't move till dark.

    Dogs are always running too.

When you move into some states in the south, the welcome wagon shows up on your doorstep with a spotlight and a .22 mag. It's sad but that's how common poaching can be in some areas of the country. It gets passed down from generation to generation.

unfortunately poachers will always be around. people who will do anything and cheat are in sports of all kinds. it sucks when your walking your private land and come across half a deer, or gut pile or just a dead deer not even recovered by the a$$hole$, but it happens. man that was a huge buck too, hopefully the authorities will catch the jerk or jerks, but i wouldn't hold your breath

Anyone who is dumb enough to not only poach such a beautiful animal but is dumb enough to send pictures of it to their buddies will get caught. Same thing happened here in WY with a trophy mule deer. Idiots started telling all their friends how "cool" they were for getting such a good deer but when people started putting it all together, they got busted. I am willing to put money on it that it ends up being one of their friends that turn them in. People have a tendency to do the right thing even if they are surrounded by those who don't. Keep us updated if they find theis guy. We could have a public poacher lynching party, haha! These things are simply unacceptable

    that sure is a monster...

Game Wardens in OHIO buckle down....we went on a deer drive sunday afternoon, last day of gun season....we saw probably 2 or 3 Game wardens out and about...also got check at the end of the day.....

they watch from a distance....i know they do...but if thats what it takes to weed out pouchers and people not tagging, then so be it....

I was pushing the other day....and walked up on a nice buck....laying dead in the woods.....was pretty disgusted when i saw that the rack was cut off his head, with his body half ate by yotes or something....depressing day when you see stuff like that..what i waste..

Deebo (and others)... My buddy works at the BP office which is where this buck had been living. Some of the guys from BP had the trail cam set up which is how the deer was recognized. Anyway, word has it that two men are being investigated for the poaching of this buck. If I can find any articles, I'll post them up.
