Been using them on a daily basis for 18 years. 8000 nails a week easily. Do yourself a favor and wear hearing protection or you will be hearing Cicadas 24/7 like me.

I also have a full stable of pneumatic fastening tools. They save a ton of time. Remember, they are really dangerous and accidents happen so fast with them. Like a gun, you can get too comfortable around them and lose your edge. Be careful and enjoy!

By the way, do you think you should have to show a photo ID to buy one?

    kidding! Peace.

Ha! My wife said the same thing today (first time she was exposed). I don't wear my hearing aids when doing this kind of stuff so I didn't really notice it until she said something. I do wear hearing protection for other stuff and I'll probably wear it now, at least with the framing nailer. Thanks.

Yeah, I try to keep my edge when using stuff like this, moving sharp parts, and when I am on a ladder I am double edged LOL.

Phot ID is OK as long as there is no waiting period. If they don't have an ID they probably can't afford one anyway unless they use food stamps to buy it.

We have a pretty big crating department at work and run anythong from 1" to 3" guns as well as staples. We use 1 -2 drops a day. I would imagine they run couple thousand nails a day.

BTW, You can rent them at HD or Lowes for a fairly low price if you only need one for a small job or one that has a special purpose. I rented one for an addition I did on my dad's house a while back. It was pretty funny, Dad frowned about me renting it until about the second overhead stud that he tried nailing the hard way. As stated the nails were the real expense.

I've got a Paslode impulse 16 ga. trim nailer as well as several other trim guns and a framing nailer. I'll be giving the framer a workout in the next month or so when I build my new garage.

There is NOTHING like it, eh Bruce? I made the switch myself and will never look back...

Muzzy, if you hold the gun straight, it will put them where you want them every time ... angle it, look out digits!

Impact drivers are gods gift to anyone that used to use a regular cordless drill to drive screws. Everytime I let one of my buddies use my dewalt, I tell their wives to get ready because whatever he used to want for birthday/xmas will be replaced with an impact driver.
