I've been hunting a major staging area on my property once a week for the past two weeks. I'm seeing lots of deer but no mature bucks yet. I'm starting to get a itchy trigger finger if I have to keep watching the deer parade much longer. Logic is telling me the bucks will show up sometime but when? Haven't tried a morning hunt in there yet but it is next to impossible without spooking deer off. Any moral support would be greatly appreciated.
Moral support? Just look at the calendar, now is the time to be out there. Put your time in, the big boys know where the girls are this isn't their first rodeo. Hunt the does and you will find the bros.
Shoot a few does if you have the tags for it. The big boys won't get up and chase if there are so many does that they do not have to compete for them.
Yeah last 3 sits have 4-5 breeding age does and I keep asking where are the bucks, have seen nothing but smaller bucks, have does infront of me for 2 plus hours a night and no real action yet. Every sit that passes without a decent buck I am one sit closer to the payoff.
