Staff Sgt. David Jee Weigle. U.S. Army Scout/Scout Sniper. Robbinsville, NJ. Born 30-April-1981 Killed in Action 10-October-2010. Staff Sgt. Weigle was KIA when his vehicle struck/ or was struck by a roadside explosive device while operating somewhere in the Zhari Province, Afghanistan. Staff Sgt Weigle served multiple tours in a combat theater, earning multiple commendations. He leaves behind a wife and child. David and I attended the same Elementary and High School. We joined the military at the same time. We shipped out from MEPs, the same day, albeit, he shipped to Army Basic and I shipped to Marine Corps Boot. The enthusiasm in his eyes, his body language, his words, was undeniable, as we conversed, in MEPs, the day we shipped. He was motivated and honored to serve his Country, and, ultimately, die fighting for it. Rest in Peace, my friend. YOU are a true hero and I will continue to bring recognition to your service and sacrifice....Yutt ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzOVtKZbi3o http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSFTM0aSfOg
My hat goes off to you and your family and also to his family and friends. My little brother is leaving here in the next week to go over there also. He is in the Army. He started at Fort Sill and now is heading to the base in Hawaii. I am not that great on telling me goodbye for now knowing that things may happen that may send him to be with the lord. I know this is what he wants to do and we as Americans honor him and all of you that make this country what we are today. Thank you and thank everyone else that is with you over there. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends and hope that he will never die in all of our eyes!
will send one up. thanks goes out to him and his family for their sacrifice. thanks to you for sharing with us. our rememberanced goes out to him and all soldiers past and present of this great nation.
Truly the ultimate sacrifice. Your friend is a true hero, one that should be honored by those that knew him, and those that did not. I will keep this soldier and his family and friends in my prayers. I an sorry for your loss. Take care buddy.
Thank you, everyone.... lost a lot of good friends over the past years, but, this one hit close to home because we were in school together for so long. No matter how many times we've pulled the trigger on our enemies, it will never be enough to bring back our fallen. The best we can do is remember them, and bring recognition to their sacrifice. Whether you agree with this war(which I do not) or not, the young men fighting are there because they do believe this is a war for our freedom...and that is admirable. America is NOT at war. The Marine Corps, Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard are at war; America, is at the mall. Just because it's not headline news, doesn't mean we're not still over there fighting....
My best Friend is in Afghanistan as I type, I couldn't imagine, God be with you and his other friends and Family. I'm pulling out some paper and pen right now, time to write an overdue letter. Thanks.
Thanks again everyone. You have no idea how much that will mean to your friend. When this war first started, mail was coming in by the truck loads. With the constant reminders of war in the headlines, on TV news and radio stations- no one could forget that we were over there fighting. Now, it's slipped from peoples minds. We hear more about american idol or football than we do our brothers down range catching bullets. Thanks again.
