I am still getting fletching contact on my Nitrium Turbo!! I had an Apache Carbon on it & had contact, even tried feathers, still contact. So today I went & had a QAD HDX installed. We paper tuned & was shooting bullet holes. Came home & started shooting, was getting wild groups. Looked at my brand new launcher arm & this is what I have. This is driving me crazy!!!
I know you probably did it but I had the same thing happen. Turned out to be that my timing was just a tad off on the rest
I looked at the timing marks in the & the line on the launcher arm is a little past the past the one on the rest body. A friend said that i may need to make sure the lines are lined up since my bow is shooting over 300fps. It's shooting a 325gr arrow @ 308fps. Does this sound about right ?
Had the timing checked today at the shop. Timing is good. Bow is set at 65# 30" DL Shooting a Maxima Red 350 100gr tip
That's what happened to mine. My lines are right on at full draw and only get that way on literally the last inch
the lines on mine dont line up and from what ive heard they wont always. for timing the rest what i did in setting up mine is tied it to the down cable and had it tight enough to deploy the rest but loose enough so the cord flows through the rest and pulled to full draw and let it set itself and then tightened the cord the rest of the way. if you were adjusting your rest for tuning it could set your timing off in your rest due to making the cord shorter/longer
So you pulled off the Apache and installed the QAD and now have the same issue? Set up or bow issue then. Is the cord adjusted cord so the launcher reaches it's full upright position the last 1 - 1 1/2" of draw. Where is the cord tied to? Is it below the grip? We will figure it out. Just keep at it. My Whisker Biscuit never fails. Just saying.
I think I got it. When we set it up at the shop we ran the timing cord through the down cable, shot it a few times & served it in. But when he served it in he served about a 1/4" up the timing cord. I think this caused the cord to be to tight, maybe throwing timing off. This morning I loosed the screw that holds the cord, pulled the cord through the rest & drew the bow back several times. Then pulled the cord toward the down cable just a hair & tightened it up. Shot 2 6 arrow groups at 40yrds & it's stacking arrows. Thanks for all the insight & recommendations.
I recommend getting a heavier arrow.. Tuning becomes exponentially more difficult with the light arrow at the speed you described. I would shoot for an arrow around the 280 fps mark, especially if you are going to shoot fixed heads. Or any head really. You'll see better penetration results with the heavier arrow. I shoot the nitrum turbo too but I'm shooting a 455 grain arrow 275ish fps. Another benefit is noise, it is significantly quieter... Just some food for thought
