I am new to bow hunting and really would love to start. I have an older used bow but plan to buy a more up to date compound bow, but i just have some questions. How do i find my draw weight? How to correctly find my draw length? How long should my arrow shafts be and how far over the rest should my arrow shaft be when at full draw? Thanks:)

For your draw length, measure your arm span from finger tips to finger tips. Divide by 2.5 and that will be your draw length. Some people take off a 0.5 inch for a release. As for the arrow sticking out, a lot of people I know say the arrow should stick out 1" or 2" from the rest at full draw. As for weight, I'd just have it adjusted to different weights until I found one I could easily, comfortably pull back, without struggling. I'd go to a pro shop, especially for the draw weight.

Where are you at in Indiana?
For draw weight, it's more just pulling bows of different weights to see what is comfortable. There are a number of bows now that are made specially for females and they typically have a lot of adjustment in both the draw weight and length.
Like stated above, the best place to do this is a pro shop. Central Indiana is blessed with a number of good shops. So depending on where you live, I may be able to point you in good direction.

I like my arrow shafts to match my draw length. As far as them being above the riser, they should be at a "center shot" position. The rest will create this when properly set up.
