Exactly Fletch, that's why we live here, choices. I choose to think the Confederate flag is stupid, other choose to respect it's heritage. We are free to choose, and free to dislike others choices.
yes and they will have to live with the choice is right and wouldn't have to pay for it if people lived with morals. But what sickens me is that our country worried about the stupids things (media) to cause a up roar while murder is going on and its not so bad because its a choice. Very messed up IMO js
At the rate this country is going the word "Free" will be a thing of the pass and choices will only be if you want to follow a certain way of life or be jailed maybe even die for your believes.
I think we 'support' too many people now. We should only provide for the most basic of needs not support a lifestyle of entitlement. But yes, I would rather we were worrying about how to support all those babies/children/adults than to consider abortion as any kind of birth control or eugenics.
Being from WI the only attachment I have to the confederate flag is memories of Daisy Duke. But I can understand reasons people from the south might still be attached to it. Most of the soldiers who fought from the South were not slave owners and were little different from those from the North they were fighting against. The largest single race in me is native American, should I be offended by the American flag because it was flown over the slaughter of my ancestors? I don't think so. None of us were alive, none of us were slave owners, or slaves ourselves. there is no reason to look at the flag and apply any inherent meaning to it. If we can't get past a piece of cloth, how are we ever going to get past racism itself? The "meaning" of a flag comes from within each of us individually, if you see it as a racist symbol, perhaps you need to look at yourself and see why that is what comes to your mind.
