    Hey everyone,
Long time reader / lurker, in frequent poster.

Hoping you could give me a few pointers on my form, my accuracy is decent (1" at 10 yards through to 4" at 40) but what is archery if not self improvement!

I would maybe drop the back arm a smidge and lean a little more forward a smidge and see how you shoot.

Are you leaning your head a bit into the release?

I'll try straightening up. Looking at the pic I'm thinking maybe my draw is a 1/2" long, causing me to lean back a little. (I got new strings and felt like my draw had shortened a little so I bumped it from 28.5 to 29.)

As far as tipping my head I'm not sure, once I get home from work I'll have to send some arrows downrange and see what is happening. Hard to replicate muscle memory at work when I'm not holding my bow.

Zach even though your form is a touch off we could all learn from you. You are correct that we all need to evaluate our form every year. Bad habits are the worst to correct. Kudos for asking for help.

Some good advice here. Looks good for the most part. Glad you are looking for help, there are some knowledgeable individuals around here.

Definitely looks like your draw length is a little long. Your forearm is touching the string stop. Release elbow down just a bit.

Well...I have no further advice than what is above, but I know what I'm doing when I get home. It never occurred to me to match up a photo to proper form. Talk about a DUH moment for me. Thanks for posting this!

Ya I was going to say it looks like your bow arm is a little straight but I was maybe thinking it was just the angle of the picture

Shortened my draw back to 28.5" and paid attention to the height of my elbow and standing straight. Time will tell for sure but my shots felt better. Felt more stable once anchored. I'll likely resuscitate this thread in a couple weeks with a new pic.

    Quick update;
No full draw pic (shooting by myself lately) but I did push out my practice shooting to 50 yards.

This was my best grouping at 50
    Average groups were around 3"

    Thanks for the input guys.

Dude! That's a better group than I'd make at 30... You're doing it right!

See this has me wondering. What if someone's form was really bad yet they could shoot this well. I would be reluctant to tell them to change anything.

    Bowtech Rpm 360 - 71 lbs 29 inch draw
Gold tip velocity xt arrows, HHA Optimizer, Rip cord rest.

If their form was "really bad" they wouldn't shoot this well consistently. If they somehow did, and you corrected their form they would be stacking arrows at 50 yards.

Looks like your shooting a PSE Bow madness with Easton FMJ. Your form looks like your front arm is too extended and maybe shorten your draw back to 28.5". I'm surprised your not getting any string slap with that arm so extended. The way you are grouping is awesome so I don't like to say too much.

I had adjusted a few things a couple weeks ago after getting input. Those recent shots are at 28.5" draw with my release elbow a touch lower and standing straighter.

Didn't have anyone around to shoot a pic of my form though

Going to bump this thread back up,
After extensively working on longer shots this summer (40-60) I shot a mule doe today at 2yds, yes, two yards. Shot was a touch high, I guess I’ll need to work on my point blank shooting as well!
