Hey guys had a question and wanted to get some input/opinions from everyone. I had one of the plastic/polymer trophy Ridge React sights on my old bow. My bow exploded and trashed my sight. The bow was covered under warranty and after getting it fixed I sold it and got a new bow and sight. This go round I bought the trophy Ridge React Pro which is all metal. Obviously the metal will be stronger but what I was wondering is was as far as noise and vibration would the metal or plastic be quieter. The reason I wonder this is my new bow seems louder than my old one when the sight is attached and quieter when I take it off. Just wanted some different opinions from everyone. Just wondering if the sight makes it louder being metal or if it's just how my head is turned. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I found some sights are louder than others. Especially the made in China (All Trophy Ridge/TruGlo/more). I had one I called a tuning fork. For an inexpensive sight look at Pro Hunter Sights. All machined aluminum and made in WI. I bought a Super Nova ($50-60?) and like it. Black Gold makes a great sight (in Montana) for about $100.
Don't believe it is the material making it louder as much as the sight design. I will take a little extra noise to get the additional strength. Had a broken site cost me deer.
I love my black gold. tough as nails and no noise at all. The pins stay the perfect brightness with the photo luminescent cover on the side Sent from my XT1254 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
