New to the site and my first thread. Hope to hear good comments. I have a new plot cleared and almost ready to plant soy beans this year but i have open areas and dont want to waste the space. Any suggestions on what to plant? IMG_0261.jpg IMG_0260.jpg

Welcome to the site. How much area of beans are you planning on? How high is your deer density?

I have about 2.5 acers plowed and the rest is timber and lots of water. I own 20 on a dead end minimum maintence road and everything is timber surrounding me so i have a pretty big deer herd. My main goal is to keep them closer on my place because that will be the main source of food around there.

clover in the open areas or clover and chicory. In the fall i go in my soybean field and plant winter wheat and rye..that way when they start to eat the beans they also have a nice green patch inside of it..it works quite well..I just broadcast the seed in the standing beans right before a rain.
