My favorite pizza is from a bar/restaurant called the Gateway Grille, in one of the eastern Pittsburgh suburbs. Generally I prefer mushrooms, pepperoni & sausage individually or in any combination. I dont like thick crust or deep dish. Thin or medium crust, a generous amount of cheese and sauce that is a little more tangy than sweet. Now I need to go find a pizza joint open @ 8:00 am.
Buffalo chicken, for sure. But if you're talking about something fancier I'll take a wood-fire grilled lobster alfredo pizza any day. My dad does alot of weird stuff with pizza at his restaurant, but it's always good! :D
Standard is pepperoni dipped in ranch. New favorite is pepperoni, sausage, and banana peppers. I also never miss out on a good buffalo pizza. There's a place in western PA that does a kicking chicken bacon ranch pie. All of the above are better when they are a bit overdone, when I can I order it well done.
We usually make our own pizza. Some of our favorites are fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, and arugula or ricotta, deer sausage, and jalapeños. Most recently we made a ricotta, leeks, and bacon pizza. But if we order from our local place, we always go for the Sweep the Kitchen, which includes every ingredient they offer for their pizzas. Yes, that includes anchovies.
I will eat just about anything and that goes with any pizza topping. Pizza Shoppe and Shakesphere pizza from Columbia, Mo is the bomb diggity.
We like double cheese with black and green olives. We also like anchovies, but our favorite place doesn't stock them, so we bring our own and they add them.
