I love my glock 29 gen 4. It's out of your budget and also more then you are wanting. But look for a 19 or 23. Almost got the 19 myself but I had to go bigger haha. Just go to a shop and hold every gun you can and if they allow you to fire them shoot what you can. Every body has their own preferences. Good luck.

Hey Dan, did you get a different barrel for your Glock?

The handguns I carry (not all at once :) ) are a an M&P 9, an XDm 9, a beretta 92F 9mm, an XDs 45. They're all pretty good. For some reason I'm not a very good shot with the XDm. The beretta is the most reliable and pretty darn accurate. It's my usual open carry gun while hiking because it's tough as nails. Would be hard to find one around $400.00 tho'. The M&P is a good shooter, I swapped out the trigger so it has a 2lb trigger pull now. The XDS is my purse gun. Very nice shooter for a .45 acp. Very controllable.

    Springfield XD and I'd shoot a .45.

No I haven't. I got several different answers about the g20 barrels. Need to soon tho!

And she's lying. I saw how many guns she pulled from her purse. I wouldn't mess with her.

    Glock.

The mid size flocks are great for carry and target practice.

    I own a g32c and a g42

Trying to get my hands on a gen1 or gen2 in 10mm

The Glock19 is great I own one. But if you are looking for something not just for the truck and to dissolve to nearly nothing in the waist band I'd go Shield or LC9s (The new LC9s is so much more improved than the old LC9). Both you may find new for your price but definitely used.

Just as others have said, I love my Glock 19. They may not be the coolest looking pistol out there, but the are durable, reliable, are priced reasononable, and fit many different hand sizes. My sister in law who is 5ft tall and weighs nothing has a G19 as her on duty and a G26 as her off duty, and both fit in her hand perfect. But go to your local shop and see what fits your hand the best.

Glocks are great guns, but I can also say that I'm very happy with my ruger 9mm. If I were looking for a truck/boat gun that's not an everyday carry piece I would certainly give ruger a look.

I could swear once you had more guns on you than all the ones mentioned:/-

I have the Springfield XDS .45 for my carry gun, slim and shoots well but only has 5 or 7 round mags if you think you will be in a major shootout;) I also carry a Para 1911, Springfield XD Tactical .45 or Glock 17 when the weather is cooler and I'm wearing coats. All shoot well and are reliable guns.
