Well here goes ladies and gentleman. Living in NC we have favorable hunting regulations one of which allows hunting with the air bow gun thingy. I'm seriously considering purchasing one of these and filling my safe with another hunting tool. With that being said before I drop a thousand bucks on this thing I would like to know if anyone on here has had any practical application with this hunting instrument. I completely understand that some of the die hards on here may or may not have an not so good opinion about this thing, and thats ok, I welcome any and all opinions, advice and practical experiences. Thank you in advance.

Why bother ? When it's gone this far just use your rifle and save your money.

It's allowed to be used on our private land all season long.

Hey Brad if its legal, go for it and enjoy. I'm too addicted to a vertical bow and plan to go that route as long as I can... but after that it'll be something...crossbow...air bow...claymore...something.....

I prefer my compound as well but hey, if you wanna add something interesting to the collection, this is it. If it's legal and you're having fun, who's to tell you to stop. Life's too short to have other people tell you how to have fun. Enjoy! But to actually answer you question, no. Never even held one in my hands.

I'd like to have one to play with but I've never seen one in person.

The scope is a POS. Mine is actually defective and I'm not thrilled about it. You will absolutely need a new scope and rings. It's pretty loud. Arrows are very expensive and easy to break. It is fast and powerful to be sure.

Do you think they’d allow this in archery season too?

Seeing as how it shoots arrows all they need is Jim Shockey to nail a Buffalo with it and endorse it and boom. Coming to a woods near you soon.

Allowed in gun season only in NC. I bought it mainly for depredation permit use on a farm where really loud rifle booms aren't appreciated by the critters. But I'm considering giving up on the thing since the scope is so wretched and the pump is a giant PITA to operate.

I’ve shot one a few times. Louder than I thought it would be for sure. I only shot it at 10 yards 2-3 times so I can’t comment on accuracy, reliability, etc.
