I noticed the last few years my single green pin has a blur to it when I try to focus on it. sitting at a computer for work probably F'd my eyes, but just curious if anyone has any tips to clean it up. I'm shooting the HHA Single pin Ultra, .019". I did wrap some pony tail bungies around the fiber optic housing to dumb down the light gathering which helped but still not a crisp pin picture. the images are a rough idea of what I mean

Lasik Surgery will clear that right up! :tu:

But seriously. The pin should be a little blurry as you should be focused on the target and not on the pin. If the pin is super blurry maybe try a combo of larger peep sight and smaller pin (so the blur won't cover the deer).

You need a verifier. I just installed one today. Night & day difference. They have different focal strengths. Best thing to do run down to your local bow shop a try looking thru different ones and get the best fit for your eyes.

I focus more on my target than I do the pin. It helps me quite a bit. If I find myself focusing on the pin too much my shots are all over the place.

Had lasik a few years ago, blurry pin never completely went away. I still wear 1.5 power readers. Went with a #6 verifier and problem solved.

Yep, pretty much. Thankful for the technology. It's like having 25 year old vision thru my peep now!

I have been in the same boat for a couple of years now. I need reading glasses for anything up close and the bow sight was starting to be out of focus a bit. I changed the sight to something with less fiber optics in length and it made the difference for me. The wife also tells me she is gonna get me a hearing aid but I can still hear deer walking so it must be her voice at my hearing loss range.

If you haven't looked into them yet, check out peep sight verifiers. They work great. It's like reading glasses for your peep sight. Most bow shops have a sampler dial that allows you to try the different strengths. Obviously you want to choose the one that allows you to see the deer and the pin clearly. They work great! Allows me to hunt and shoot without glasses.

Yep. I would recommend one with a hood (just a short little visor on it, if you will) that helps keep rain off the lens. They used to only make 1/4", but some folks complained of the hole not being big enough during low light scenarios (I haven't experienced that) so they now offer a 5/16" diameter.

As far as Lasek surgery it might help, but my doctor told me after the surgery almost every patient will at sometime need reading glasses. That was 15 yrs ago.. I went with a large peep sight 5/16" 2yrs ago. But I think I may go with a verifier sooner than later. It's old age....damn it......grrrr..

I use the ones without the hood. I do carry Qtips cut in half stored in a pill bottle.

400 MX LH.JPG i had the same problem seeing my pin.found out i had a cataract. i had surgery and had to wear glasses, then i could not see through a peep anymore. a guy told me about this rear site, now i shoot better than when i used a peep.note i cut the 2 top pieces off and site with the bottom 2, just like a rifle site.
