So, what size pins are you guys all shooting? Personally, I have .029 pins on my CJ Dead Nuts 2 and to be honest I REALLY wish I had my .019 pins back. In a hunting setting it didn't make much difference but when shooting at those teeny little spots on the target having the smaller pins was very, very nice. I sold my old CJ sight with my Allegiance and when I picked up my new sight it's all the local bow shop had in stock at the time.

Anyways, thinking about switching over to an Axcel Armortech-HD with .019 pins before the season starts. Given the way I'm shooting, it might even be sooner if I can get my hands on one.

I like to use a big .029 red pin on the vegas face. I center my red pin up in the yellow and let er' fly.

Yep, most top end indoor shooters using pins are using the largest pin they can still see a bit of yellow around. The larger the pin, the less percieved pin float, which makes it easier to "trust your float" so that you can just aim, and not think about trying to time it with a perfect drive by. :d

I am using a black dot on my lens, but it's the same concept. The black dot I use covers all of the 10 ring, and about halfway into the 9. As long as I can see yellow on all sides of the dot I just stare at the target and let my subconsious execute the shot trusting that it's there. It also helps if I get a big hole in the target if I don't have to see it behind the dot (especially if it's off center).

My dot covers about all of the 10 ring or X-ring on an NFAA target. It is what I have always shot, and guess I'm just too stubborn to change.

I'm using a .019 pin because that is what I have on my hunting bow. Being the first league I have ever shot in, I'm just using my hunting setup. Using a larger pin when target shooting for the reasons you guys mentioned above makes a lot of sense.

I'm using a .029 pin. But my top pin (20 yards) is yellow. I was noticing none of the other bows I saw had a yellow top pin... and then I realized because I'm left handed, the sight is basically upside down.

Hopefully I can swap the pins around without breaking the fibers because the yellow on yellow bites. (tho' I doubt my shooting would improve much)

So what you're all saying is basically that I'm stupid, shut up, and learn to shoot better?

I'm quite possibly using the worst spot setup I think, lol. .010 yellow top pin. Talk about perceived float:D No excuses though, I doubt a bigger pin would help me much.

I'm the opposite. The .029 pins look like the end of broom sticks! I prefer .019 for 20, 30 and .010 for longer distance but since we're talking spot,

.019 pin for me, .029 blocks more than it should.

I'm in the minority here... I'm shooting 010's indoors i have a hard time seeing clearly and I've found I shoot better with the smaller pins. I hunt with the same sight...
