Well guys and gals, I gotta tell you I am extremely excited to be heading down to hunt my uncles farm in Pike county. I have made a few trips down there with him and everytime I have harvested a deer. Last time I was there was in 2008 we left chicago at 2am and headed down. We arrived just before daylight not a mile from the property and boom a flat tire. Needless to say we ended up getting in the tree late, however I still saw a really nice buck sneeking thru the bedding area behind about six does. None of the deer offered me a shot but I was excited to have seen a big buck the third weekend in october. We all decided to meet at the neighbors cabin for lunch while we were all standing out front I looked out across a giant crp field and saw a deer walking, I threw up ther binoculars to see a nice buck heading across the grassy field. The neighbor looked and said thats a good one I replied I can kill that buck he laughed and said yeah with a rifle. I said no really the wind is perfect I can sneek out there and kill him. After a few minutes he said you really think you can kill that deer, then go get him. I grabbed my bow and headed off across the field on my hands and knees. I would stop once and a while to look back as they gave me hand signals to his location where he had bedded. After what seemed like hours but was really about fourty five minutes and 500yds. I came up to my knees to see him bedded and looking right at me. I grabbed my rangefinder and it read 51yds, as I went to draw my bow the deer stood up and turned broadside i sent an arrow flying and it hit its mark, as the deer ran off he was bleeding alot I new he wasnt going far. After recovering the buck no one could believe that they just watched me crawl across that field and harvest the buck, my uncle was really impressed he still recalls the story to friends today. I hope we can have another successful weekend trip this time I will keep you guys posted, I cant wait to get down there and get in the tree. I will be filming myself the whole weekend so I hope I can capture some great footage to share with you all.

Well guys, I just got home from the big hunt and was very dissapointed. Deer movement was non existant, I saw a spike buck and two does in three days. They were just not moving pretty hot still i bet in two weeks theyll be runnin all over the place. Looks like im gonna have to head back down there later in the season and give it a go again.
