I'm starting to understand why I never find any sheds In the woods I've hunted the last 20 years. They all seem to leave come winter.

I love does in the winter, all fuzzed up and all.

Very well could be that your bucks are wintering elsewhere. Same happens in my core area, one reason for the food plot to try to hold deer. Nearly impossible as it's hard to plant something that's useful right now. I believe most of my deer to winter elsewhere. There is an area that can hold a ton of deer but the farmer is feeding his cattle right along with the deer. Right now it's all about finding food.

Great photo's Steve. Gotta love the Reconyx... I have been slacking and havn't had it out for over a month now.

As far as sheds go... I know that the bucks are still on my properties, its just that they aren't in great numbers and they move around so much that its nearly impossible to pinpoint a "hot spot". Even in the winter, bedding areas change daily along with travel routes.

Rob- For some reason mature bucks In this woods seem not to stick around come winter. I know the neighbors have a couple food plots but so does my brother (small one). I've had cams surrounding my brothers food plot and not one mature buck picture since December 19th (my big guy). I moved 2 of my 4 camera's on trails that lead to my neighbors food plots, that's where these pics here came from. I'll leave them here another week or 2 and see If I can catch a good buck. So far I think I've only saw one buck In this woods that appeared to have lost his head gear. He looked to be a 1.5 year old If It Indeed was a sheded buck.

Jason- There's 2 different spots In this 120 acre woods where the deer are bedding so I've got them pin pointed pretty well. Snow Is such a give away. Most of the beds I'm finding aren't of any good size either. Hopefully this new spot I put these cams In last week produces something for the next check unlike this check. I just can't put these cams away for the winter yet. I want pics of some big bucks, preferably pics of bucks I haven't saw yet. Not looking good so far as far as big bucks but It sure Is fun!!

Bingo! Right there's the reason we do this, everytime you go out there it's like Christmas morning when I was 6 yrs old. Great pics by the way.

Great pics Steve, lookin pretty cold up there. We only get to 6 degrees a few times a winter if that. Love the Reconyx, it's definitely on my trail cam wish list.

Total ligament reconstruction of the ankle. I need a pair of snowshoes to attach to my crutches!
