These are pictures of pictures so I couldn't get the best quality, but it shows up pretty good. Heres my story since I didn't tell much of it earlier. It was shot on opening evening and it was getting close to dark and I'm on a field so I can see pretty well yet. 3 deer came out about 100 yds away so I figured my evening was over. I could not tell what they were so I was going to get my binoculars out then I heard one coming from my right, so I got my bow ready, but instead of coming to my opening he walked to the other three which was still around 70yd or so away. I could see he was a small buck and he went right over to one of the other deer and they started to but heads and push each other around so I knew that there were 2small bucks on the field. So now I'm hoping they leave the field so I can get down without spooking them when all of a sudden one was coming from the woods right behind me which got my heart pumping. He come out about 15 yards from my stand I could make out he was a spike but my light was just about out. I had my bow hanging on my easy hang, then another deer followed the same path right behind me so I pulled my bow back and held it. It seamed like along time so I let it back down, and that's of course when this buck come out. I could not see any horns and I had a bonus doe tag so I pulled my bow back again and It was hard to see the pin through the peep good but I got it on the deer and fired. This deer and the other buck ran about 30 out into the field and looked around like what just happened. Then this one just fell over. By this time all I could see was silouetts of the deer, but another one come up to the one I shot and blew so it got up and ran, but only about another 20 to 30yards and died. He never left the field. Then my cousin come up to help me and I told him I shot a small doe, then when we walked up to it he said you liar you shot a forker. Oh well it was one of the coolest nights I ever had in a stand. Sorry for the story being so long
Wow .... Congrats .... in NY you can only hunt until sunset ..it's pretty light at sunset so never any issues seeing your sights ... is that your first deer?
I'm in the toolies in Blackduck MN, about 30 min north of Bemidji. I'm going to have to find a cool plaque to put it on.
No I still have a doe tag, plus I have a buddy who is not going to be able to go out as much as he thought so I might get to shoot one for him too.
