Great photos. Thanks for sharing. I love the pic of the 3 fawns drinking.

How do you hang and stand in a windmill anyway?;)

Thanks for the responses. Especially good to hear from you Tony. Its been a while.

Yes I do hunt from this particular windmill from time to time but since it is 90 yards to the nearest cover, it doesn't get near the action during shooting hours by the time hunting season rolls. By then, it is not over 90 degrees everyday and along with the increased human pressure, the deer quickly change over and most deer, especially mature bucks, wait until dark before entering the field/visiting the windmill. Having said that I did take 1 doe from this stand last year.

How do i hunt it? Well, when I stated "ontop", that is a bit of an overstatement. Actually it is a big windmill which i guess is around 30' feet tall. it has a wide base and so about half way up ( I think the platform is around 16' foot above ground) i have 2x12's laid across the support arms which makes about a 4'x4' platform with a sucker rod in the middle. I then tied brush across the back to break my outline. It works suprisingly well.

Unfortunately only two of the fawns belong to that doe, but the fact that three are in the picture is why I took it, for the illusion/possibility that they MIGHT be triplets. If you will notice, the one in the back is a little bigger than the others.

Here are three more pics that I took that afternoon that I personally like. The two fawns, while not necessarily a great photo, is cool to me in that I was getting to watch firsthand the transistion of fawns being "hid" by their mothers while they went to feed to the time of the year where the fawns are just starting to travel with their moms. These two were tucked away but took it upon themselves to go and find mom on their own about 30 minutes after she had been in the field.
