Here is the first kill of 2009 for me. I killed her in last night's wind storm. For some reason I always have good deer movement on this property in the wind. I was hunting over some oats that I planted in mid August. The beans are brown and the turnips haven't turned yet so they are hammering the oats. I had other action tonight and I had my vid clips ready for splicing and I can't get my movie maker to work. I am going to have to get some different (better software) if I want to make this thing work. Anyhow, here are the two best parts. The opening interview (turn your volume up) http://s45.photobucket.com/albums/f89/campsneeze/rob here they are/?action=view¤t=Intro.flv The shot. This was the first deer that I was ever able to "self" video. Last year I cam real close and that doe walked off the edge of my frame. With that in mind I guess I didn't get in as tight as I could have on this big girl. Oh well, I am not making a TV show, I am just having a fun with it. She came trotting in from the right in a hurry with her two (I am guessing, buck fawns), the stopped 17 yards out in front. http://s45.photobucket.com/albums/f...y are/?action=view¤t=20091008184800.flv Couldn't have asked her to run in a better direction. She went down the gulley behind me right towards the truck. Special thanks to Rob for coming over and helping me take care of her, he's been a stand up, "go to" friend. Thanks pal.
Sony Handycam on a tree gorilla tree arm. If I was to go back, I'd have switched it to nightshot plus and zoomed a bit. I really like this camera.
I am on a freezer filling mission. If I get the chance at a nanny on Saturday at the cabin, I'm sticking it. A week from now, I hope we are covered in blood down in York, PA with TWild. Last year we went 3 for 4 on Friday night. RIP Matt / PA won't be with us to oversee the butt out tool usage, but does should die down there again I imagine.
Congrats Ben on a great Doe!!!!!!!!!!! PT we have talked before about this. I couldn't agree more I LOVE THE THWACK sound!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats the way Ben! When Rob gave me the news, I gave you a long distance fist pump and a smile :D congrats, I thought the vid was good!!
Thanks for sharing Ben...I did too like the sound (bow noise to impact sounded pretty fast - not much room for "ducking the string")...Good luck the rest of season - once the big boys get moving...Team 16 will be ready for some buck points!
Well, that 09 Air Raid is spitting out those 430 grain Victorys at 295 fps at 66 pounds. It stuck nearly 5 inches into the ground after zipping through her lungs.
