Hey guys, just purchased my first pick up truck and am on the fence whether to buy a plastic bed liner or get the roll on bed liner? Any thought or input are greatly appreciated.

I have the Rino Lining and love it. Plastic will keep the moisture under it then in turn will hurt your bed faster. I say Rino line it.

there is no advantage to the slide in protector other than the price. (this is my opinion/knowledge)
they trap water/ debris under them causing the bed to rust without you knowing. they also move around and scratch the paint underneath.
roll on liners cover the paint, without allowing rust to happen underneath, they are much more durable, and to my knowledge they have no problems except they can be expensive.
my opinion would be to spend the money on a name brand spray/roll in liner so that it will last the life of the truck. if you go cheap they may chip or come off of the bed.

I had a plastic bed liner in my truck and replaced it with LineX and love it. I've had it for 2 years now and looks as good as new. I'd recommend the spray on liner over the plastic any day of the week.

Any of you guys ever hear of bedtred? It's supposedly better than a spray in and it's cheaper.

If you use your truck like a TRUCK though, that mat won't protect the sides and fender wells. I had my Rhino Liner put in about a month after I got my truck, it's done an excellent job of protecting the bed for just over 12 yrs. now. I've even seen people use that stuff on fenders and rocker panels. Don't look the NICEST, but it works as well as anything out there!!! Definitely a Rhino/Line-X/or whatever other durable spray in liner. If it's professionally done, it will stay forever.
