That does sound high to me. I just had deer processed for the first time. I picked mine up this last Tuesday. I had a doe and a buck done for $260. I didn't get sticks, but I did get jerky at $13.50 lbs. and summer sausage for $6.50 lbs. I was very happy with the job they did for me.

Ouch. Around here, anything other than std cut and wrap, they charge alot. I would think they could give you an estimate when you dropped it off.

$135 of it was for the sticks... I knew they were high, but at the time, I was unable to butcher this one on my own. Nicks is Nationally known for their work. I have had the sticks, and sausage from many different places, and Nicks is the only place I will go for this stuff. I have my own grinder, and usually grind all my scraps into burger since we eat so much of the burger. I cut hte rest into steaks, chops, and roasts..

WAY too high. $135 for sticks, but that still means $115 just to cut 6 packs of chops and 6 roasts...no way.

Once bitten twice shy... Buy yourself a grinder and some butcher paper. Processed two deer this week... Zero dollars... and I know who did it.

no, around here that would cost like 135, and it would be vacuum sealed, custom labels, etc.

Local palce around here charges by the pound. They charge .85 cents for the pound no matter what cut which includes bagging. And you pay $10 for sausage and $35 for them to skin and clean the deer.

Time to find a new butcher. I paid $130.00 for 6 packages of Keilbasa and about 1o packages of steaks for my doe. You sir are getting ripped off.

$250??? I would've punched the processor in the throat and ran.

Joking aside, that's about double where it should be. IMO. On top of that, for $250, he can't vacuum seal all of the meat rather than wrap it in paper? Sure, I love the look of paper wrapped meat, but not for the long haul.

please tell me those are at least 2 pound bags of sticks? They look like 1 pounders to me. That's over $11 a pound man. Better be mixed with some kobe beef for that price.

Plus the fact that you don't even know WHO'S deer is in them sticks.....

After my last visit (during gun season) where there were like 80 carcasses lined up in the parking lot, I really lost my feeling for "dropping off my deer to be butchered".....

My butcher charges $60 for a deer. U tell him what u want done with it, and he only charges us $60. It was $50 last year. When we accidently shoot yearlings or button bucks, he usually charges $30. But yah, that's a big rip off.
