    Hey.

Ive always been into sports and gear, fishing and similar. But, i never really tried archery. I'm a regular listener of Joe Rogans podcast, and he talks a lot about bows and hunting. The idea grew and i started looking at local stores for compound bows. After reading a bit online and looking at some videos, i decided to get a really cheap 20lbs draw weight compound bow "kit." I understand that its basicly a kids bow. But the 20lbs bows on youtube looked good enough to practice with.

When i came home and unboxed mine, the excitement was quickly replaced with dissappointment. Whatever i bought fires roughly 35 feet before it lands. A good 20lbs bow cant be that weak? In hindsight, i should of probably spent more on my first bow. But how much should i spend to get a good adult beginners bow? What should i take into consideration as far as my own size and strength?

    Thanks in advance.

Like all obsessions your wallet shall dictate. But my advice is go to a local bow shop and for a bunch of models. All major names have low end up to high so you can make your assessment. If you plan on hunting in the near future please make sure you have a bow that has a draw weight of 35 lbs or you cannot in good ethics shoot at a deer. As it will wound without a fair chance at recovery.
Don't be afraid to ask questions tho. Everyone is very helpful here and we all started at the same level.
