I'm in the market for a half ton pick-up. Want to get a nice truck to enjoy my hunts with my dad as he is about to retire from hunting due to age. I'm leaning towards a Ram 1500 Laramie, anyone have any other suggestions? We drive a little more than 2 hours to our stands. Sent from my SM-G950U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Toyota Tundra are reliable and comfortable. I currently own a 2013 tundra crew max. I have 85,000 miles on it with out any problems. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I'm at 115,000 on my 2011 Tundra SR5 and have had zero problems other than front tire outter cup wear. After some research it turns out frequent tire rotation is a must with these trucks. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Im a chevy - gmc truck guy 100% in half tons loved mine i had. Altho Ford and Ram make some really nice trucks now too. GM jus has a very nice half ton that feels and drives like a car and seats are really comfy. All being said, what year model you buying? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums

Just purchased a 2017 tundra SR5. Love it. Wouldn't trade it for any other truck. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
I wish... wish that price tag was more friendly. Sent from my SM-G950U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Hey no fair, quit moving the goal post, you didn't say a thing about money being any kind of limitation. ROFL
If youre using it for back and forth to hunting lacation and daily driving any truck will do the trick. If you start towing heavy loads and going off road is when you'll start seeing real difference
I'm a Dodge guy. My Ram Hemi Sport has has 84,000 and my dad's Ram Big Horn has 100,000 with no major issues so far. I will say the newer Chevys that I have rode are nice also. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Absolutely love my Ram 1500. Great truck and with the ecoboost the gas isn't that bad. I would recommend the 1500!!
Everyone has their preference. For me it's reliability. No other half ton can compete in that category. I've always driven F-150's and a 250 before the Tundra. But if I had to go with another half ton I think it would be a new sierra. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Upgraded my Ram about a year ago. The 8spd is a really nice for pulling up our hills. Sent from my XT1254 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I have a 2001 Dodge 1500 4x4 5.9 v8 with 240,000 miles. Redid the transmission last year and probably do the engine in the next couple years. Ten grand will rebuild my truck but I could not buy one for three tines that. Good design and good care most will trucks will last you a while. Avoid new designs because we also have an aluminum head Ford and every so often it shoots a spark plug out.
