I'm in the market for a half ton pick-up. Want to get a nice truck to enjoy my hunts with my dad as he is about to retire from hunting due to age.

I'm leaning towards a Ram 1500 Laramie, anyone have any other suggestions? We drive a little more than 2 hours to our stands.

Try driving a Chevy before you purchase.

Toyota Tundra are reliable and comfortable. I currently own a 2013 tundra crew max. I have 85,000 miles on it with out any problems.

I'm at 115,000 on my 2011 Tundra SR5 and have had zero problems other than front tire outter cup wear. After some research it turns out frequent tire rotation is a must with these trucks.

Im a chevy - gmc truck guy 100% in half tons loved mine i had. Altho Ford and Ram make some really nice trucks now too. GM jus has a very nice half ton that feels and drives like a car and seats are really comfy. All being said, what year model you buying?

Just purchased a 2017 tundra SR5. Love it. Wouldn't trade it for any other truck.

If youre using it for back and forth to hunting lacation and daily driving any truck will do the trick.
If you start towing heavy loads and going off road is when you'll start seeing real difference

I'm a Dodge guy. My Ram Hemi Sport has has 84,000 and my dad's Ram Big Horn has 100,000 with no major issues so far. I will say the newer Chevys that I have rode are nice also.

Absolutely love my Ram 1500. Great truck and with the ecoboost the gas isn't that bad. I would recommend the 1500!!

Everyone has their preference. For me it's reliability. No other half ton can compete in that category. I've always driven F-150's and a 250 before the Tundra. But if I had to go with another half ton I think it would be a new sierra.

I have a 2001 Dodge 1500 4x4 5.9 v8 with 240,000 miles. Redid the transmission last year and probably do the engine in the next couple years. Ten grand will rebuild my truck but I could not buy one for three tines that.
Good design and good care most will trucks will last you a while. Avoid new designs because we also have an aluminum head Ford and every so often it shoots a spark plug out.
