What all kinds of apps. Do you guys use while and for hunting like weather wind topo hunt times and such.
Google Earth, MotionX-GPS, Topo Maps, ShotSimulator (D&DH), and I'm hoping to use Ustream to brodcast live from my tree. I also have an AirStash & its app so I can pull my camera cards on the way in, then view them in the tree on my phone and email them to my buddies who aren't hunting
Whatever you do, do not download Angry Bird or Hungry Shark-you will miss a lot of deer because you're addicted to the game. I use Time2Hunt-it uses solunar calendars to calculate the best times to hunt. I have been trying to see if there is a correlation but I'm not sure yet. I use the Weather Channel app a lot. You can get Tapatalk so that you can get on here easier (I don't have this, it's $3 and I have never paid for an app yet). Backcountry is a topo/satellite image gps program that I have but I rarely use because I don't have unlimited data when not on wifi. I have a gps that I use normally. All of these are free apps. And there is YouVersion. It is a copy of the Bible in any different version that you could dream of. I like to read it while I'm on stand.
I'm going to look into a Solunar app as well. .... oh yeah, and Tapatalk so I can check-in on my favorite Bowhunting Forum!
I have an android phone so I use TIME 2 HUNT, SCORE MY RACK & WEATHER BUG ELITE. Time to hunt has the sun rise and set time and moon phases which are nice. Score my rack is a must have you can do all type of horned animals and it does deductions automatically for both typical and none typical.
Fitz, what's an AirStash? I've been wanting to be able to pull my cards and view them on my phone but didn't know how?.
Muzzy 125 grn, 368 grain arrow, 40lb bow, 30 yards. Grizzly broadhead, 650 grain arrow, 73 pound recurve, 30 yards. :D
if you have an iphone bowranger is a great app when paired with a bow mount. Phone calculates ARC for you based on your stand height and allows you to free up your hand from a rangefinder when that buck is on its way in. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks like it could be helpful as long as it is accurate.
AirStash is a SD card reader that creates it's own wireless network that you can get on with your phone. I can pull my card, put it in the AirStash, turn it on and check the photos with my iPhone Then you can save what images you want to your phone. It's slim and small and can slip right into your pocket or pack. Think I got it for about $95 bucks, which isn't bad since the Cuddy Viewer is more.
