Phenomenal "1st" day in the stand

That's the reason I sometimes balk at shooting something early; it cheats me out of the full experience.

I hope for a day like that tonight! Hunting isn't always about killing one, sometimes its just about having those kind of days. Sounded like a blast!

 

Thanks guys. I am going to sit there again if the wind is right. I need a W/WNW wind in the morning or a E/ESE wind in afternoon to hunt it. I will try it out again when those winds hit, and I have time off to hunt, and the area is actually open(see the fun on hunting a place that randomnly shuts areas down due to military training?)

 

Thanks Jeff. We are going to have the correct winds for an AM hunt on Saturday. I am hoping to catch something moving back in to bed. In the PM on Saturday. I am gonna have to wing it! I am taking a friend of mine that hunts the same base I do on Saturday. He hasn't shot a deer with his bow in over 2 years. I want him to shoot something and don't mind sharing this little dynamite of a spot with him.
