It occurs to me that Whistling Straights is one ugly golf course. It's all crooked, slooped, long grass everywhere with rocks, cliffs, not a flat spot in the whole place etc. It's just ugly. Who picks these places. LOL What I'm really saying is.... I couldn't survive that place. I couldn't carry enough balls in my bag.

David David David...... forget the cliffs, slopes, rocks, water etc.... It's the targets that matter. Point A to point B. Nevermind all the stuff between the two points. Get a yardage and a line and hit it there. See? Simple isn't it.

It is an awesome golf course to have the PGA. Tiger finally shoots under par.... wow. Don't get fooled though. He's not fixing all that funk in a week. He'll be middle/bottom of the pack again.

David, Although I have never played, (I can't afford $300 for a round of golf) Whistling Straits, I have played Black Wolf Run which is a sister course that was set up in Kohler,Wisconsin a few miles from the Straits. Black wolf Run is probably not as bad as Straits, but its darn close to it, Ya, I lost a few balls there myself, LOLOLOL !!!
Both of those course are a hop, skip and a jump from me.

Ahhh, so that's all there is to it? I haven't played in a month and a half. I went and played this morning. It might have been the worst round of golf I ever played. I finally figured it out. It wasn't me.... it was Friday the 13th that did me in. LOL The last time I played this course I was 1 under after 5 holes. I shot a 9 on the next par 4. LOL Today, well hell, we stopped keeping score. It was pull it left into the woods OB all day. I hit a couple straight but something was screwed up real bad. I say it's Friday the 13th. I lost 2 balls on 2 different holes. Yup,... yank it out of bounds... yup yank the second out of bounds. It was truly ugly. This weekend I'll be at the driving range as I'm suppose to go to Ithaca for 2 days of golf next week with my buddy. Chipping and putting were fine. It was those other 4 strokes a hole that did me in. LOL It sucks to play like that.... but we had fun. LOL

End of another era in golf? I think it could be. So long to the Tiger, Phil, Sing, Furyk Els ,etc.... group? Hello to the Watney, Johnson, Mcillroy, Kim, Watson, etc.. group? Lot of young talent seems to have taken over the tour. I like to see it. Looks like a definite 20 something going to win today. I'm not saying the old farts are never going to win again. Since Tigers stumble though it looks like the youngins are ready to take over.

Yup, I was thinking the same thing lately. No ones afraid of the big bad Tiger anymore. There are a whole lot of young guns that think they're going to win. It appears that some others who looked at one time or another like the next big player have slipped away into also rans. I'm also thinking the Ryder cup could be ugly for the Americans.
