When you narrow it down to nuts and bolts.....is there really another choice?

    That's about a "no-brainer" a choice as I've seen.

We were joking at work about the money the Offense cord makes in Indy...he is in nothing more than a support role. You could give me a fifth of it and indy would still make the playoffs. The only time Peyton looks at the sideline is to tell them what decision he has made, like going for it on fourth down etc...

    Im a homer,

But i still think what Brett did on a brand new team is more impressive then Manning doing the same thing for the 10th straight year. I know he got 2 new receivers, but Brett got 4 new ones, 2 new running backs and a tight end, put up similar numbers with less interceptions and led his NEW team to 12 wins.

ALSO, he FINISHED the season with very strong games against Chicago (outside) and New York while Manning was holding a clipboard. If the NFL was worried about competition like they say the were, then this should be a BIG FACTOR in the vote.

If the "MVP" was solely voted on the most impact a player has on his TEAM, then I'd say Favre had a legitimate shot at it.

If it's the MVP of the LEAGUE.....then there's no comparison. You can't punish Peyton for being on an outstanding team.

I agree. Clear MVP this season. I have no problem with Favre, Rivers, and Brees being mentioned in the conversation as well. I am very surprised no love for Johnson though? 2,000 yards for only the sixth time in NFL history? Not even mentioned?

I was leaning towards Favre for Caleb's above reasons, but I think what sealed the deal for Manning was the game he was pulled from and how horribly the colts imploded afterwards. That game alone showed how valuable Manning is to that team. In MN, Tarvaris Jackson can still run MN's offense if Favre were to go down. Johnson would have gotten more some mention if the Titans were better (or at least started better).

Manning got almost 80% of the votes. Most people dont know that only 50 people vote for the MVP award. Manning got 39.5 votes.

Didn't Johnson's team go 8 and 8? Unless an outstanding player's team makes the playoff's there is no way they have a shot at MVP.I am surprised though that he didn't receive any votes! The most combined yards from scrimmage ever."ever" that is an incredible season!

I do have to agree with Scot considering that todays NFL is a QB's league. It seems that most teams have started to abandon the running game.

I wouldn't call it horrible. They finished with a 10-6 record. Not fantastic but certainly not horrible.
