What's your opinion on him so far? I know ESPN is blowing sunshine up his butt and handing him every record in the history of the NFL already. I'm not buying into all that yet. BUT....WOW!! The dude is playing at an incredible level right now. Do you attribute it to the competition so far? Or is he just THAT good right now? Whatever the case may be, he is flat out putting on a clinic. And more impressive since 2 years ago people were saying he'd never be able to throw the ball again. Good story for a class act. I hope he continues his dominance (for fantasy football reasons mostly :)

I just wish he would have stayed out of the AFC West. He's the greatest quarterback to ever grace the football field, just wish he wasn't doing it for the Donkey's.

The only thing holding him back is the rings.

Hes Brett Favre minus 150 picks (and a few bonehead plays). Great regular seasons, great magic, just couldnt get it done at the end. Favre should have won 4 Super Bowls, 3 with the Packers and one in purple. Manning the same. He had some of the greatest offenses (teams) of all time in Indianapolis, way better then a handful of the actual Super Bowl winners.

As far as this season goes...its easy when your recievers are WIDE OPEN. And signing Welker was the best thing they ever did. First cold weather playoff game they lose...kiss the Super Bowl goodbye since its in NY.

I have never been one to judge someone on their greatness by the number of championships.

I agree with Hooker as him being the GOAT. If their secondary didn't blow it in the playoffs last year against the Ravens on all those bombs I think Peyton would have a second Superbowl ring. His ability to read defenses and make audibles is crazy and his football IQ is through the roof. It's a shame he wasn't able to get another ring in Indy as he had a couple amazing receivers in Harrison and Wayne but was lacking in some other important areas.

Not entirely, but it is a factor yes? The GOAT has to be a winner.

If stats are all that matters, then just give the GOAT title to Aaron Rodgers right now. Nobody in history has been a more efficient QB.

Best career QBR? Highest QB Rating? Best TD/INT ratio? Lowest int%? Best yards per attempt?

...Lacking in the ability to beat Tom Brady. Who I would have no problem calling the GOAT.

Sure, it's a factor, but some people use it as the be all, end all judge of greatness. I find that a bit ridiculous, especially in team sports.

Check my last edited post. Im not saying its an end all be all either. There are just better options....like Tom Brady.

It's not just stats, it's the fact that the OC for Peyton has the easiest job in the NFL.

"uh yeah, Peyton, just go with whatever play you think is best"

Manning is the smartest QB to ever play the game. He's pretty much his own offensive coordinator. I think at one point Dungy said he called 80% of his own plays or something like that while with the Colts, and changed half the other 20% with audibles. He's got one more ring than Marino and Jim Kelly combined, but I don't think he'll go down as the greatest of all time. Bradshaw has 4 rings and I don't think he's in the top 10. Manning is definitely in the top 5 though.

I think they go down as 1 and 2 but I would tend to agree with Siman and reverse that order.

Classy guy when it comes to the sport of football and even better at keeping his transgressions off field under wraps to not be the next Tiger Woods.

Hoping he doesn't win it all this year as I still don't like him though lol.

Personally I don't think so. The only exception to that would be if his career ended sooner than he wants, then I could see him turning to coaching.

I think Peyton is amazing. I do however have to agree with the Siman Brother on this one. If he is calling 80% of his own plays, and he is his own offensive coordinator, then he's choking when it really counts (playoffs). Personally I think its impossible to really label any one QB the GOAT, each contender has a couple arguable stats or accomplishments that IMO make it impossible to decide.

I'm glad he doing well this year, he seems like a stand up guy. I'm not sure I could pick between Brady, Manning, or Rogers as the one I would want on my team.
