Well? What do you think? Does he play again? If so is it with the Colts? I think he plays, but for someone else. The Colts are clearly cleaning house and making the move for life after Peyton. Unfortunately I think Peyton has the will and desire to play, but his body won't cooperate. I'd hate to see him go out with a mediocre couple years, but I think that's what is going to happen. IMO he won't be ready to play at the level he's used to, but someone will pick him up with the hopes that he will and he's not ready to pack it in. I don't think anyone is at fault here. Its a business and IMO the Colts are doing what they should and so will Manning. But, I don't see anyway he's in a Colts uniform next season. What do you think?
Or he could get traded or whatever, have a slow season next season while still recovering then bust out one ridiculously great season and retire. I would love to see him stay with the Colts, recover an retire strong but, he probably wont.
He's never gonna be a Colt again. Nerves don't regenerate. If he was smart, he'd start getting his offensive coordinator resume around and wait 5 years for his yellow jacket.
Read an article earlier today about how his physical therapy may be plateauing and his velocity hasn't increased since he started throwing in december.
Ya know what? I'm surprised I havent' heard more of this with all the Peyton talk. Wasn't too long ago they had another "elite" QB almost lead them to the superbowl. They arent too far removed from that team. Good defense, great running back, dome team. Seems like a good fit to me, but Ive never heard the Vikes name mentioned in this.
He should just call it quits. Don't think I'd want to take a chance with re-injuring my neck...or is it still considered injured. Big risk IMO.
I do not think he will play for the Colts again. I do think Irsay should consider paying him the $ as a HUGE thank you for every thing that he has done for the team and the city. I would not say this about any other player but the only real difference between last year and this year is him. They went from a perrenial playoff team to the basement. Irsay doesnt have that stadium or the Super Bowl with out Peyton.
Vikes are all in with ponder, fans are tired of the quarterback revolving door. Besides they have too many holes to fill to give up anything for a big name quarterback
From what I understand there is zero risk as far as the neck is concerned. There are no worries about the neck being able to hold up to contact. A lot of NFL players have had similar surgery and went on to play. Its more that nerve regenerating to give him the strength in his arm to throw again.
Speaking of Peyton Manning's future, did yall see his new commercial? "Hey, a man's gotta work." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88p8WTqfby4
He won't get his 29 million, he won't be playing ball again. He'll just retire. He's done, toast, history, see ya later and all that.
