The letter from Peta was fine. I see nothing wrong withwhat they did other than I disagree with their opinion. People are bent out of shape because theydisagree with the message.
Only part I disagreed with is the timing...100% disagree with them but honestly if the letter stated what I've found and read it is what it is.
Peta only wrote the letter because she is a hunter. It would have been a different story if she was a hiker on a bible retreat. PETA actions were malicious in nature and they should be exposed for it.
Of course the only reason they wrote the letter was because she's a hunter, they don't agree with hunting. I don't think they have a problem with hikers or people on a weekend bible retreat, their objective is to end hunting, not hiking. That letter was not malicious, not even close. We as hunters want to believe it's malicious, because it fits our agenda.
Yep, shot in the air to scare it away, but then it came back and he shot it the second time. Don't think they found it. This was the next school district over from me, and only about 15 minutes from where I'm sitting now. Her response to them was sufficient. She's going to continue hunting. Like was said, PETA is well within their right to send a letter no matter how much we disagree or think they're nuts:D
A PETA group out of Oregon got their hands on a photo of my daughter that I had posted to FB. It showed my 1.5 year old daughter pointing a toy gun at a deer mount over the fireplace. Some of the things that were said about both my duaghter and myself as a parent on their post were absolutely unbelievable.
No it wasn't. It was a letter telling her to look at it from another point of view. Nothing more and nothing less. You just want to believe the intent was malicious, because you don't agree with it.
Regardless of the intentions of the letter, What would your response be if that was your daughter? How would u feel about that?
I'd have the same response as they did. "Thanks, but we're not going to quit hunting." Honestly, I would think its a pretty tame letter from them, as a lot of their views and tactics are pretty extreme. Sending a letter asking to look at it from another point of view isn't too extreme.
Your right I don't agree with PETA but why send a letter at all if there wasn't malicious intent behind it. If it was a hiker they wouldn't send a letter telling the hiker "it's just what bears do" this could have happened to anyone that enjoys the outdoors. That's where the malicious intent comes from
I already agreed that they wouldn't send a letter to a hiker, because they're not trying to stop hiking, they're trying to stop hunting. They sent a letter to someone they disagree with to try to get them to look at it from another point of view. How is sending a letter, asking someone to look at something from a different point of view, malicious? Its only malicious, in your mind, because you don't agree with the other point of view.
At least they mailed it to her. Surprised they didn't throw it though the girls living room window attached to a brick, which would have been more in character for them. The best response to these morons is to down play their antics to make them even less relevant then they already are.
Unbelievable. Another reason I loathe their organization, and more reaffirmation that I'm losing interest in Facebook and I've been on it since it's early years (I joined in 2005).
If that's the worth thing PETA did, then I don't think we would have that much of a problem with them. They are generally much more crude, and my guess is because of the age of the victim, the choose not to use their normal "throwing paint on the fur coat" tactic. Their logic is completely flawed, and many of them value the life of an animal higher than that of a person. You can't argue with them, because they don't use logic. They are best, just ignored.
