Obviously, insurance is a good thing to have, but how many of you do not have insurance on your dog? I am bringing home a yellow lab puppy soon and need some insight! I dont even know where to get pet insurance hahaa!
Depends on what it covers and what activity your dog has. Also a lineage health history...ie. Blood line hisory of cancers, deseases . Which is hard to find unless in show dogs. Daughter took in a foster siberian to help loose weight before he went to adoption. VERY OBESE . He lost weight and was adopted. New owners took him in when weight loss uncovered a tumor. They decided to operate, 8 hrs into the surgery Jake lost his battle and arrested. Now imagine the bill these new owners are saddled with after 2 months of ownership.
I don't know if it's a good idea or not, but I've never had insurance on a pet and I'm money ahead. Maybe it's luck.
I am getting a lab from a breeder. I am unsure of any diseases or the health of the lineage. I suppose it couldnt hurt except for the wallet. How often are your dogs going to the vet?
To be honest I will never again get another pedigreed dog. Too many issues hips eyes etc. Not pissing on your boots and good luck with the dog. I swore I would not have another dog after the little yappers but my next dog I am going back to a cheseapeke chocolate lab mix, stupid idea living on a lake the dog will never be dry but that is what ozone machines were made for.
Mine tore both of hers 9 and 10 yrs ago...and just had another 2k surgery this year. Maybe there is a reason I can't afford a new truck....
