    No, I am the defender of all that is right and good (among other things) I only used the moniker from the McManus stories because I enjoyed the books and the name.

    While I doubt there actually is a “real “ Rancid Crabtree. I think you are making a wild leap and assumption not at all based on fact.

    Rancid Crabtree was a hillbilly who lived in a shack. Occasionally ate roadkill and smelled really bad. The man wouldn't shoot a crossbow. Those are for elitists and such...

    Heck no! Capes only get caught up at the most inopportune time. I prefer something more low key such as a walking stick and a stylish chapeau but I have to admit, adding the cod piece really rounded out the look.

    Two of my crossbows are recurves while one is a compound. All are smaller than that (unless that is a really small person holding a normal sized crossbow) . While I don’t recall dressing like that or owning a medieval crossbow or being a long hair or being that young, I suppose, if you are certain that is a picture of me, we will go with that.

    I think I would have had better sense than to ruin a period piece by putting a modern sting on a replica though.
