I got my bow early last year and somehow missed the fact I was supposed to bring it back in for a tune up after a month or so of shooting. Finally got it in and they tightened up some of the connections, the riser, evened out the timing. Another thing they did was retie my pep. It's definitely higher than it was, but, when I come to full draw and anchor, I have to tilt my head down to line my eye up with the pep. When I do this, almost automatically, my bow arm drops down like it's following my eye/head motion. My question is should I have to tilt my head down to get my nose on the bow string and get my eye looking through the pep or should it naturally be at eye height when at full draw?
no head tilting ... draw straight back .... take it back and have them adjust till its perfect ... may have to retwist the string to get it to line up ....
Best way to find your peep is to draw blind. First make sure you have an arrow in the bow and it's pointed in a safe direction. Then draw and anchor your bow naturally and hold. Once it's there open your draw (master) eye and adjust your bow arm until the sight housing is in line with your eye. Have a buddy document when the line from your eye to the sight housing cross over your string. You can use tape a piece of string, paint pen whatever. Like said above, you should not have to tilt your head down to acquire your peep. You could be doing this to acquire your peep simply because it is set too low, and/or you could be doing it to get nose-to-string contact. Fix gave good advice on setting peep height. Close eyes, draw and anchor, then open eyes. Peep should be perfect if set correctly. Another thing to consider is the axle to axle of your bow vs. your draw length. A shorter A to A bow and a longer draw length will make for a steep string angle, and it may not be possible to get nose-to-string contact without having to dip your head. If that is what is happening, forego the nose-to-string contact and consider going to a kisser button instead.
