Hey everybody out east how is the snow out there? Not going to lie I am a little jealous to a certain extent. If you still have power I guess it a good day to spend on BH.com or out snowmobiling or something. Post your pics! Would be really cool if you had set your camera on the mode to take a picture every minute.
I live in Upstate NY in the Adirondack foothills, west side. We got maybe a foot.... maybe only 11 inches. LOL Light fluffy stuff. A lot of overflow around and over the plow on the 4 wheeler made it take a little extra time to clean up. Out along the cost they got about twice what we got with some places getting over 30 inches. Going to minus temperatures tonight. It only got down to 13 last night. Along the coast they had wicked winds and last I heard there were like 700,000 without power. Couldn't send out line crews in bucket trucks because of 50-80 MPH winds. They said maybe 2 more days before they can attack their power problems. That would suck. Right now at 1 PM we have sunshine and light winds at 5-10, 24 degrees.
No bad here at all. We are on top of a pretty decent "mountain" and my girlfriend couldnt get her car up last last night. But other then that it hasnt caused any issues here. Only maybe 4 inches.
Its winter time its supposed to snow, we go about our normal business with out much concern. This isn't New Orleans, we don't cry over a little adversity, but of course we do have the common sense to build our homes above sea level. We got dressed poured a glass of whiskey and took the gator for a Cruz around the property at dusk last night It was beautiful in the woods.
Only got about 5 or so inches here. The wind is what's bad though. Plowed our driveway and my grandma's, but because of the wind I have to keep going back out and cleaning up the drifts.
We got about 20 or so inches. Getting ready to head out and pick up some takeout and asess the damage.
The winds were horrible yesterday! It took me close to 2 hours to get home on the metro bus. I had to go out periodically to shovel out the slush below the snow(1-2" of slush below the 1 foot of snow).
You guys are making it sound better then what they were making of it on the news this morning. I wish we had gotten all that snow
I got about a foot, I live about 20miles south of Albany...it's really no big deal, seen a lot worse. Of course the nazi governor wasted no time declaring a state of emergency...even opened the state emergency operations" bunker" this guy is on a major power trip and uses every chance he can to flex his muscles ....d bag with capital D. I've got a lot of family and friends in mass, NH, and Maine. Seems like Portland and Boston got hit really hard with well over 30" of snow. My folks live in north central NH and they got 24". They're well prepared for big snow up there, I think the news media blows things out of proportion a bit.
Hmmmm, I'm not out East, but in Milwaukee, got about 6" of wet heavy stuff on Thursday, just enough to make it a pain in the butt !!! did'nt even slow down traffic that much, but then again, we are ready for it. Out East ?? they're in trouble where they got 30" !!!! Even that would slow Wisconsin down for a day or so.
