I have been in the same hunting spot now for a few years , and have had good luck. A family member of mine owns the property and this year he is allowing one of his freinds to hunt. I'm very careful about scent both on my clothes and cover scents in the woods, however the other guy doesnt care about either, I didnt know with him hunting so close to me if this going to hurt me? Sometimes he is crossing within 50-100 yards of where my stand is?

    I've had this scenario.

There is one other person that is allowed to hunt my family's land. Two years ago, opening day of rifle season I am watching a buck come out of the woods into a pasture where I can get a shot. Sure enough, thats right about when this guy decides to show up late and drives his truck right between my blind and the deer.

Best advice is this, just try and figure out where he wants to be, then move as far away as possible. Even if you can, in a friendly way point out the disadvantages of crossing over each other, he should appreciate the effort.

Its been my experience that a lot of "half hearted" hunters really only like one spot to set up, and they like that spot to be "easy." So, chances are that if you can isolate him to one area, moving as far away will actually put you in a better location. Especially if this guys is less than careful with his habits, it can happen that his bad habits will drive deer to a different part of the property/

Thats what happened in my case. I moved my locations and was better off for it.

Won't help at all. I share propertys with my 2 brothers and one of their buddies and a family friend. We always use scent control. We never pressure the woods or anything like that.

It's goin to drive the bigger bucks on the property to just go nocturnal and bring your chances of shooting one way down try to convince him on scent away or dead down wind....
