I just bought a recurve bow at a pawnshop for $15. It says Penneys Foremost on the limb. I did some research, and found out that Penneys Foremost was a line of mens sporting goods stuff at JCPenneys from 1961 to about 1973. I know JCPenneys didn't make the bow, some other company did and just put the JCPenneys name on it. The bow is 60 inches long and 45lbs (at 28 inches draw length). I wondered if any of you would happen to know what company that is? Penneys Foremost Logo.jpg

I don't know who made it but I'll venture a guess that it was Shakespear.

I'd say that's a pretty good guess. The writing is definitely Shakespeare style
