I just got my strings in the mail today from bowstringdepot getting them put on tonight!!! He seemed like a great guy
Yes but not stable so they wear out fast. 8190 is even better and fast but again not stable. X is the best of both worlds. But new and not out long enough for a good look at. But I have my doubts that its a dog. I think its gonna be excellent. Right now its hard to beat Trophy stable no stretch no creep. Softer shot and gore fiber for less fuzzing . Hutch
I agree and great for a hunting bow that is exposed to bad weather. Imo, speed should not even be a factor when choosing a string material. They're just too important to consistency. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
You would be surprised on how much speed increase we get out of trophy. Not all bows but most. I have supertuned many bows and gotten 3 to 11fps more out of the bows. Then on the other hand ones not supertuned my customers have gotten 3 to 8fps so ya never know. Hutch
Absolutely, a properly tuned bow will. My comment was geared toward the material itself. There are faster materials but imo, that shouldn't be the criteria used. Stability should be first and foremost. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
That is a terrible option those things are terrible. Had one on my first bow before I knew anything about bows and walking to the stand one morning it broke. Must if hooked a on something along the walk. I didn't notice it till I had deer in front of me after light and reached for my bow and as I went to draw saw it hanging. Would never use one again or recommend one to anyone! Sent from my iPhone 5S using Tapatalk
Totally agree with you SticknString!! Prime's Metrao strings and Hoyt's Fuse strings are two of the best out there IMO!! Ive had nothing but good luck out of them. thanks for the info on string materials Hutch, ive always wondered about the weight differences of the materials. I am really happy with the new X material Fuse strings on the 2014 Hoyts.
I'll agree with Hutch, not all factory strings are junk but the sad part is that most are...On factory strings "or even some questionable aftermarket strings" I always just tell guys to put 150-200 shots through one and then we will start from there as far as retuning the bow and making sure the peep sight is right. Now with really good custom built strings they will settle a lot faster...I'll be honest, when I set up a bow with my string builders strings I put the peep in right away and serve it in and it's a rare occasion that I have to ever adjust anything after that...And if I do it's within just a few shots and it's a very, very small amount. To the guys who suggested getting a peep with a tube...Horrible advice honestly, get good strings and be done with it...If your strings are junky enough that you HAVE to use a tube peep then your gonna have a heck of a time ever keeping the bow tuned and in time. Tubes are nothing but trouble, the tubes break or pop off at the worst times, a lot of people have had eye injuries from the tube breaking at full draw and smacking them in the eyeball, they add weight to the string so you lose speed, they are louder and it's just one more thing that you have to worry about that's not needed with a good set of strings.
lol... just buy strings that have NO shoot in times.... Ive been doing it for years.... its really in the build and stretching proscess
