My peep sight keeps sliding on me, should I get it tied or ok? Also I'm wondering kid I should trash the peep sight cause it has the rubber tubing and it keep dry rooting and busting. So should it switch to a peep sight that's tied in the strong like some of the ones by G5? What your thoughts? Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
Get some Pine Ridge Archery silicone tubing. Works very well. I don't use them, but I do like the peep tubes.
Had the same problem with tubes slipping and breaking, switched to one that splits the string in 3 and doesn't need tubes, it's always aligned... Best 2$ I ever spent!! Last thing you want is that peep getting out of alignment when the buck of your dreams just walks in front of you. You know ''Murphey''... if it's gonna happen, it will happen at the worse possible time!
I second that Chopper. Not sure when rubber tubing started being used again, used it early 90s then started using split string peeps.
Get one something like the G5 Meta Peep and have it tied in. If it tied in properly it won't slide at all.
I third chopper. I used the one with the rubber tubing and all it did was cause more trouble. I switched to the wheel style peep and has worked awesome!
First tie in the peep before it flies out and then it won't move. Second (or maybe first): To me the tube is just waiting to take your eye out. It also is loud and gets caught on stuff. The 3 split peeps I don't care for, a string group is always blocking the hole. With today quality strings there is no reason not to ditch the tube aligner. Have a good peep installed and set. You will be much happier. I like the RAD Super Deuce ($5-7). I used a G5 and didn't like the color and the 5/16" I had crushed. I tried a Fletcher Tru-peep and just couldn't see well through it. There are many choices out there. Try a few. IMO all are better than the tube type.
Yep, it should be tied in place. If your string is a newer low stretch string then I would go with a G5 meta peep or one similar to what the others have mentioned here. Once it's installed it may take a little bit to 'train' the peep to be right there when you are at full draw. Using a D loop also helps you position it so it's at that right spot too.
Definately get it tied in no matter what style of peep you are using. I've heard horror stories of them coming out and taking out an eye.
I wouldn't be shooting a bow with out the peep tied in. I had a new bow and installed the peep. Then I figured I would just shoot it a few times then tie everything in. Bad idea! peep hit the wall and came back at me! So I tie in every time first thing. Hutch
